Celebrity Cruises has announced plans of fleetwide modernisation in all cabins and suites, with a new sun deck and revamped lounge, as well as a new café on four of the ships in the fleet.
The renovations are expected to begin in 2019 as part of the $400 million ‘Celebrity Revolution’, starting off with Celebrity Edge.
‘This is the largest investment the brand has ever made, and it’s for all guests,’ Celebrity president and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said.
The Celebrity Cruises fleet will also be getting some features of new build Celebrity Edge, coming in 2018.
Staterooms will be reconfigured to optimise storage and efficiency along with new cashmere mattresses and bedding collections to be introduced.
Suite guests will get a new Retreat Sun Deck, and the refreshed Retreat Lounge will be a place for suite guests to go for complimentary beverages, gourmet bites and live entertainment.
‘We’re not just redesigning the staterooms, we’re tearing them down and building them back up,’ said Brian Abel, VP hotel operations.
Brian Abel also described the new design by Hirsch Bedner Associates as ‘sleek, contemporary and comfortable.’
The Oceanview Cafe will mimic an international marketplace with globally influenced menus and a ‘sleeker, more whimsical ambiance,’ exclusively on Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Millennium and Celebrity Summit.
