High speed internet has become part of regular day-to-day life. It is no longer a pipe dream but now merely expected wherever we are, no matter the location. Anything less becomes frustrating and Celebrity Cruises have acknowledged this by announcing the addition of Xcelerate, its new cutting edge, high speed internet service across the entire fleet. Xcelerate will offer significantly improved we browsing speeds, accelerated page loading and high quality video streaming capabilities.
The new, improved services, passengers aboard Celebrity Cruises will now be able to enjoy, with ease, many favourite tools for staying connected including Facebook, FaceTime, Skype, YouTube, Netflix and more. You can stay up to date with the latest hot topics on the Cruise Club Forum.
“Xcelerate is going to give our digitally connected guests a new opportunity to share their amazing travel experiences with the world in real time, whether docked in Europe’s sought-after ports-of-call or gliding through the ocean on all of our large ships, anywhere in the world,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Celebrity Cruises CEO and President. “We know that this is what our guests expect – it’s what we expect when we travel, too – and we are thrilled to be answering that expectation with Xcelerate, which offers some of the fastest access at sea.”
Celebrity began testing the new high-speed service in January on board Celebrity Reflection. Such was the success of the trials, the cruise line decided to roll out the service across the remainder of its premium fleet. The only exception will be Celebrity Xpedition. The 100-passenger ship, based in the Galapagos Islands will not receive Xcelerate.
Xcelerate internet packages can be purchased both on board or prior to boarding using Celebrity Cruises’ ‘My Celebrity’ tool. Here you can personalise your Celebrity Cruise, planning ahead, including booking excursions, making dining reservations, and now the addition of Xcelerate internet packages.
