Celebrity Cruises has revealed plans for a new ship that is to be designed and built specifically with the Galapagos Islands in mind.
The 100- passenger Celebrity Flora ship will be one of the most eco-friendly and environmentally safe ships sailing the planet. Celebrity Flora was designed with every state-of-the-art option and latest technology in mind from a Dynamic Positioning System that enables the ship to stay on station without the use of anchors to help protect the seas to solar panels that supplement electricity to help reduce emissions.
Every space on board Celebrity Flora, including the all-suites accommodations, will feature Celebrity Cruises’ innovative outward-facing concept, so the destination is always the centre of attention at every turn.
The ship will complement the destination and merge seamlessly with the surroundings by using natural materials inspired by the islands, for a greater connection between you, the ocean, and the breath-taking islands.
Celebrity Flora will built at the De Hoop shipyard in the Netherlands and will enter service on May 26 2019, just five weeks after Celebrity Cruises debuts the first of its new class of ocean ships Celebrity Edge.
