The winners of the ninth annual Cruise Critic UK Editors’ Picks awards have been announced and it was great news for MSC Cruises, who scooped the accolade of ‘Best for Families’, along with the ‘Best New Ship’ award for MSC Meraviglia.
The largest and newest ship in the MSC Cruises fleet was recognised for its combination of celebrity chef partnerships, new alternative dining options, Cirque du Soleil performances and expanded kids club and MSC Yacht Club offerings.
Other winners in the ocean cruising categories included Royal Caribbean for ‘Best Entertainment’ for a fourth year running, Hurtigruten, who scooped the ‘Best for Adventure’ award, and Marella Cruises, recognised as ‘Best Value for Money’.
In the luxury categories, Silversea’s Silver Muse was awarded ‘Best New Luxury Ship’, Crystal Cruises won ‘Best Dining’, plus ‘Best Luxury Refurbishment’ for Crystal Symphony. Seabourn picked up the award for ‘Best Luxury Cruise Line’ for the second year in a row.
In the river categories, Crystal Cruises won ‘Best New River Ship’ for Crystal Bach. AmaWaterways walked away with ‘Best Food’ and Viking River Cruises swept the board with three awards: ‘Best for First-Timers’, ‘Best Enrichment’ and ‘Best Itineraries’.
The ninth annual UK Editors’ Picks — selected by a global panel of impartial Cruise Critic editors — celebrated excellence in cruise travel and featured a host of categories dedicated to ocean, river and luxury cruising.
