Princess Cruises has announced that it will name its next ship Sky Princess.
Sky Princess will include the same signature elements as other Royal-class ships including a three-deck atrium, outdoor cinema, adults-only Sanctuary and a range of restaurants, entertainment venues and shops.
Sky Princess will sail a range of Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona, Rome or Athens, before sailing from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale on a 14-day cruise.
Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises’ group president, said: “Sky Princess continues a Princess Cruises legacy and honours one of our previous ships.
“When Princess merged with Sitmar Cruises in 1988, Sky Princess joined our fleet and sailed with us for 12 years. Now more than 30 years later, a new Sky Princess will join the fleet featuring our modern design platform and contemporary innovations, offered to exceed our guests’ expectations.”
Sky Princess’ Med itineraries will be available to book from December 14, although customers with Elite status can make their reservations on December 13.
A fifth Royal class ship will be added to the Princess fleet in 2020.
