P&O Cruises has partnered with Time Out, the renowned media and hospitality brand, to introduce a brand new shore experience called ‘The Flavours of Lisbon’. This exceptional adventure allows guests to immerse themselves in the local food scene and discover the vibrant city of Lisbon in a unique way.
Guests embarking on selected holidays will have the opportunity to explore Lisbon’s captivating Baixa district on a guided walking tour. This picturesque neighbourhood is known for its exceptional architecture, famous yellow trams, and iconic Pink Street, a must-visit spot for avid photographers.
Accompanied by local chef Miguel Mesquita, guests will then visit the world-famous Time Out Market. Housed alongside a traditional food market, this culinary haven offers a glimpse into the city’s gastronomic heritage. Guests will not only discover the market’s history but also have the chance to shop for the freshest ingredients needed for their cooking class.
The grand finale takes place at the Time Out Academy, which serves as the cooking school within the Time Out Market. Led by Miguel, an accomplished chef with an impressive culinary background, guests will learn the art of preparing authentic local dishes. Miguel’s experience as Executive Chef of the Time Out Academy, as well as his participation in MasterChef Portugal and victory in “Guerra dos Pratos,” ensures a truly enriching and immersive culinary experience for all.
Once the cooking class is complete, guests will be able to sample the dishes for themselves. This shore excursion promises to be a true feast for the senses, allowing guests to taste the flavours of Lisbon and gain a deeper understanding of the city’s rich culinary traditions.
P&O Cruises President Paul Ludlow noted:
