Tony Roberts, Princess Cruises’ vice-president UK and Europe, told representatives that a new service called MedallionNet would see Wi-Fi on Carnival Corporation ships with “exceptional” speeds, which will be “pervasive” throughout the ships.
Roberts also went on to say: “We are working with satellite companies to establish a new network of coverage that gives more reliability. It will give us the best connection and most pervasive service of Wi-Fi at sea.”
Princess Cruises will be the first in the company to feature “Medallion class” ships before it’s ultimately rolled out across all of Carnival’s brand. The main feature of the Medallion class ships is to be the wearable Ocean Medallion.
This first-of-its-kind wearable device facilitates a personalised service on board. From on-demand food and drinks, interactive gaming, custom entertainment and smart navigation, Medallion makes cruising simpler, and more personal and enjoyable than ever.
The Ocean Medallion is complimentary and can be worn in a variety of ways such as a wristband, pendant, clip or even in your pocket.
