Viking Ocean Cruises has changed the name of its fifth cruise ship that is due to be delivered June 2018. Formerly known as Viking Spirit, Viking Orion will be the fifth ship launched by the cruise line.
A sixth Viking Ocean ship, still unnamed, is expected to debut 2019.
Anna Lee Fisher, NASA astronaut and the first mother in space, has also been named as Viking Cruises new ship godmother.
Like her sisters in the fleet, Viking Orion will focus on destination immersion, with more time in port and itineraries that include overnights. The layout and design of Viking Orion will be similar, while features will include complimentary perks such as Wi-Fi, and beer and wine with dinner.
Viking Orion will set to sail to Australia and New Zealand, Southeast Asia and Alaska when she enters the fleet.
