Virgin Voyages Orders a Fourth Cruise Ship

Virgin Voyages and Fincantieri have signed a contract to build a fourth ship at a cost of €700 million.

This fourth cruise ship from Virgin Voyages is due to be delivered at the end of 2023. The ship will be a 2,770-passenger ship and will be sister to three ships already ordered by the company with Fincantieri.

The first three ships will enter Virgin Voyage’s fleet in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Scarlet Lady will be the first ship to enter the Virgin Voyage’s fleet in 2020.

Highlights include highly innovative design solutions, specifically to address energy recovery and the reduction of the overall environmental impact, according to the shipyard.

The ships will be equipped with an energy production system, which uses the diesel engine’s waste heat as part of Virgin’s aim to create one of the cleanest fleets at sea.
