NCL Marks Milestones for Two New Ships

Norwegian Cruise Line has celebrated milestones for its two newest ships, which are due to enter service in the near future. NCL has taken delivery of Norwegian Aqua, which is the 20th ship in its fleet and the first in the next-generation Prima Plus Class.

Not only this, NCL has marked the successful float out of Norwegian Luna, which indicates that the exterior construction of the ship is now complete. This moment marks the first time the ship comes into contact with water, and is a significant occasion in the launch of any new ship.

Norwegian Luna will now be moved to the floating dock that Norwegian Aqua recently vacated, where the focus will shift to interior work and outfitting, all in anticipation of the ship’s debut scheduled for spring 2026.

David J. Herrera, President of Norwegian Cruise Line, said: “Norwegian Aqua is more than just a ship—it’s a commitment to our guests that we will continue to push boundaries and deliver MORE at sea

“From thrilling attractions like the Aqua Slidecoaster to the debut of Sukhothai, our first Thai specialty restaurant, Norwegian Aqua is designed to create unforgettable moments for the whole family while cruising to the Caribbean, Bermuda and our private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay, where we remain focused and excited about investing in the guest experience.”
