Oceania Cruises Offers First Look at Oceania Sonata

Oceania Cruises has revealed Oceania Sonata, the first ship in its new Sonata Class and the next step in the company’s focus on intimate, luxury cruising. The 1,390-guest ship is scheduled to debut in 2027 as the ninth ship in the fleet.

Oceania Sonata will begin sailing in August 2027 and has been designed to deliver elevated culinary and destination-focused experiences. The ship continues the line’s strong emphasis on gastronomy, building on its reputation for offering The Finest Cuisine at Sea.

The new ship will feature a blend of expansive, light-filled spaces and quiet retreats, creating an atmosphere of refined comfort. Oceania Cruises says every element has been carefully crafted to evoke a sense of indulgence for travellers seeking an upscale experience at sea.

Oceania Sonata will be the most spacious ship built for the brand to date, with 30 per cent of all accommodations configured as suites. Two new suite categories will debut alongside redesigned Owner’s Suites. All accommodations will include a private veranda.

Dining will remain central to the experience, with many long-standing guest favourites returning. These include the Grand Dining Room, the French restaurant Jacques, Red Ginger with its pan-Asian menu, the Polo Grill steakhouse and Toscana, known for Italian dishes. In total, the ship will offer ten culinary venues, including new concepts that will be announced later.

Built by Fincantieri, the Italian shipyard responsible for several of Oceania Cruises’ existing ships, Oceania Sonata will measure approximately 86,000 gross registered tons and carry 855 officers and crew. Additional details and exclusive dining experiences will be released in the months ahead.
