Princess Cruises Introduces Dining Changes

Princess Cruises has announced changes to the main dining options across its fleet, which will improve guest flexibility and choice. This update introduces three distinct table service options: traditional, reservable, and walk-in anytime.

Separate dining rooms will be allocated on board each ship for the three service types; one will have traditional dining with fixed early and late seatings, another for guests wishing to reserve specific dining times, and a third to accommodate walk-in guests at any time. These options are seamlessly integrated with OceanNow, offering unparalleled convenience in ordering food to be delivered anywhere on the ship.

The new dining format has already proved successful on the recently launched Sun Princess, which features a three-story dining area with floors dedicated to each dining option. This approach will be extended fleet-wide for voyages departing from 14 September 2024. As part of the transition, existing main dining reservations for departures on or after 14 September (excluding Sun Princess) will be cancelled, though reservations through 13 September remain unaffected.

From 17 June, guests will have the opportunity to choose their preferred dining style through the Princess app before their voyage, including traditional seating with the same server, table, and time, or flexible dining times and table sizes in either the reservable or open seating dining rooms.

This modification does not impact guests with bookings for speciality dining, suites, or reserve collection accommodations, where a dedicated dining room is provided without the need for reservations.

Sami Kohen, Princess Cruises Vice-President of Food and Beverage, said: “Our guests have been delighted with the dining flexibility aboard Sun Princess and we’re pleased to extend the concept to all the other ships in our fleet

“Now whether guests prefer an early seating every evening, or change things up every night, or even change their mind, these flexible dining options ensure that their dining preference is effortlessly accommodated.”
