Scenic Ikon to Launch in 2028

Scenic Group has announced the forthcoming launch of Scenic Ikon, the latest addition to its award-winning Scenic Discovery Yacht fleet. Set to make its debut in April 2028, this state-of-the-art luxury yacht promises to redefine ultra-luxury expedition cruising, offering guests exceptional comfort, style and access to some of the world’s most remarkable destinations.

At 26,500 gross tons and 205 metres in length, Scenic Ikon will accommodate up to 270 guests in 135 spacious all-veranda suites, ranging from 34 to 250 square metres across five decks. Designed to deliver the ultimate in discovery and indulgence, the yacht will feature elegant interiors, world-class dining across 15 venues, and Scenic’s signature all-inclusive service.

Purpose-built for exploration, Scenic Ikon will be equipped with two Airbus helicopters, a Triton AVA submersible, Zodiacs, and luxurious superyacht tenders. With a Polar Code 6 and Ice Class 1A Super rating, it will operate with equal ease in both polar regions and tropical waters.

Glen Moroney, Founder and Chairman of the Scenic Group, said: “This remarkable vessel is the result of more than three years of passion, innovation, and development by our team, and we are delighted to share the Discovery Yacht with our valued guests, travel advisors, and partners. Every element of Scenic Ikon’s design has been optimised to deliver unrivalled experiences across diverse destinations and environments, from its primary base, the Mediterranean, to the wilds of Antarctica.”

Construction of the yacht is well underway following a steel-cutting ceremony earlier this year attended by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković. The keel is scheduled to be laid in May 2025, with delivery planned for the end of 2027.

Scenic Ikon’s highly anticipated maiden voyage from Venice in April 2028 has already sold out, with subsequent sailings seeing strong demand. Her inaugural season will visit 110 ports across 21 countries, including the Mediterranean, Aegean and Egypt, the Cape Verde Islands, Dakar, Antarctica, the Falkland Islands and the Chilean Fjords.

On board, guests can look forward to the two-level, 1,700-square-metre Senses Rejuvenation Spa, complete with hydrotherapy and thermal experiences, as well as a host of wellness and fitness facilities. Scenic’s all-inclusive philosophy ensures that every detail, from immersive excursions to world-class entertainment, is seamlessly included.

The yacht’s helicopter and submersible experiences will elevate exploration to new heights and depths. Complimentary helicopter flights are included for guests who take advantage of Pay in Full offers, while exclusive helicopter landings at golf courses, restaurants and cultural landmarks will be available to Chairman’s Club members and guests in the Penthouse and Owner’s Suites.

With its striking design, advanced technology and exceptional attention to detail, Scenic Ikon is poised to set a new benchmark for ultra-luxury discovery cruising when it joins the Scenic fleet in 2028. Bookings are open now – speak to our Cruise Experts on 01246 819 819.
