Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) entire fleet has now entered service, as the 17th and final ship began sailing after a 500-day pause to operations.
Norwegian Spirit set sail for the South Pacific, where she will visit eight ports in 12 days. Itinerary highlights include a journey to Bora Bora, and a port of call in Raiatea, hailed as the most sacred island in the South Pacific. NCL suspended operations on 25 July 2021, when Norwegian Jade’s sailing from Athens was paused.
Harry Sommer, President and CEO of NCL, said: “This is an incredibly important day in our history and a defining moment for our future. We are moving full speed ahead, having already welcomed more than half a million guests for an exceptional vacation at sea.”
Following a $100 million refurbishment, Norwegian Spirit now includes 14 onboard venues, updated staterooms and new hull art. Mandara Spa has also doubled in size, while eateries include Taste, a 24-hour dining option, The Local Bar and Grill and the Great Outdoors Bar.
Guests on board Norwegian Spirit can also make the most of the adults-only retreat Spice H2O. This daytime lounge features two new hot tubs and a dedicated bar, which transforms into an after-hours entertainment venue.
