Monday 8 May 2023 saw Oceania Cruises’ first new ship in more than a decade, Vista, christened in Valletta, Malta, by Celebrity Chef Giada De Laurentiis.
Bolsover Cruise Club Managing Director Michael and his wife Vicky were among the guests invited to witness this special occasion. The event paid an emotional tribute to Oceania Cruises’ co-founder and retiring Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings CEO Frank Del Rio, a cruise line that his son now leads.
Following the speeches, Italian-American chef and award-winning food personality Giada de Laurentiis successfully released a bottle of Champagne on the bow. As godmother, De Laurentiis has created two signature dishes served on board Vista, where guests are able to enjoy the inspired new creations in both Toscana, an authentic Italian speciality restaurant, and The Grand Dining Room.
Oceania Vista begins her debut season in the glorious Mediterranean, before embarking on further voyages that will span more than 24 countries across four continents, from the ancient sands of Asia in the east to the glittering hills of Hollywood in the west.
Vista will deliver The Finest Cuisine at Sea®, exceptionally personalised service with two staff members for every three guests, luxurious signature public spaces, and spacious, residentially-inspired suites and staterooms create a welcoming home away from home.
