Princess Cruises Launches 2024 Japan Season

Princess Cruises has announced a whole season of itineraries across Japan in 2024, including the arrival of the first Royal Class ship to sail in the region. Royal Princess will be departing on a brand-new Japan and North Pacific Crossing, which will visit the northern Tohoku and Hokkaido regions during cherry blossom season.

Diamond Princess will also return to these shores from March through to August 2024. She will visit 35 destinations in three countries on 31 unique itineraries. These cruises will depart roundtrip from Yokohama, the port for Tokyo, and range from seven to 23 days.

The season will begin with Diamond Princess embarking on a series of four, 10-day Spring Flowers voyages. These will call at all four of Japan’s main islands and follow the predicted cherry blossom season as it progresses from south to north.

Japan’s festival season reaches its peak during the summer months. To make the most of the events, Princess Cruises will allow guests the opportunity to enjoy several key festivals with late-night stays in selected ports. Among them is the Kumano Fireworks Festival on 17 August 2024, a display of over 10,000 fireworks that can be seen from the decks of Diamond Princess. Kochi Yosakoi Dance Festival on 12 August is one of Japan’s largest festivals, featuring teams of dancers with colourful costumes and unique performances.

Princess Cruises President John Padgett said: “Japan has been a popular homeport and destination experience for Princess guests for many years and we’re thrilled to offer such a culturally-rich season of cruises in this region for the 2024 season.”
