Saga Cruises Partners with BBC Studios

For the first time ever, Saga Cruises and BBC Studios have joined forces to provide a unique experience where travellers can delve into the behind-the-scenes world of beloved BBC shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and The Sky at Night.

The partnership enables Saga Cruises’ guests exclusive interactions with a host of stars and specialists from the BBC, like Dame Maggie Aderin-Pocock, Ella Al-Shamahi, and esteemed Strictly Come Dancing pros Luba Mushtuk and Vito Coppola. Additionally, the skilled visual effects creators responsible for the magic of series like Doctor Who and Silent Witness will be present on select Saga Cruises. These celebrities and experts will offer passengers a sneak peek into the creative processes of their popular TV programs, elevating the onboard entertainment offerings.

Nigel Banks, Saga Cruises Chief Executive Officer, said: “I am delighted that we are welcoming celebrity guests and experts from BBC Studios onto our ships. This is the first time BBC Studios have partnered with a cruise line and a variety of experts, bringing these unique experiences from the television screen to our beautiful boutique ships.”

The Saga and BBC Studios partnership programme will initially run between July 2024 and March 2025  across specially selected all-inclusive no-fly itineraries aboard sister ships, Spirit of Adventure and Spirit of Discovery.

For those eager to sail with Strictly Come Dancing stars Luba and Vito, two cruises are currently available to book: The 22-night Croatia and the Treasures of the Adriatic, setting sail on 28 February 2025, and the 18-night Western Mediterranean and Italian Riviera cruise, which departs on 26 March 2025. They will give an exclusive insight into their journey from competitive dancing to the spotlight of the Strictly stage, and reveal what it’s like to be part of such a high-profile television show. Additionally, they’ll offer passengers a front-row seat to their spectacular talent with two brilliant performances in the ship’s Playhouse theatre.
