Cunard Offers First Glimpse of Queen Anne’s Wellness Offering

Cunard has marked six months until the launch of new ship Queen Anne with an exclusive preview of just some of the enhanced wellness facilities that can be found on board. Currently being constructed in Venice, Italy, the 113,000-tonne vessel is set to distinguish itself from the rest of the iconic fleet with an unprecedented selection of wellness amenities.

Under the Mareel Wellness & Beauty concept, the ship will serve enriching wellness experiences that aim to rejuvenate guests. This includes a Wellness Club with specialised programmes for solo travellers and a range of wellness services, from cryotherapy treatments to Himalayan salt saunas.

One notable feature of Queen Anne is The Pavilion, an open-air haven on the top deck boasting a retractable glass dome. Designed in the likeness of stunning glasshouses, it provides a perfect space for relaxation, socialising, and aquatic leisure.

The ship integrates a Wellness Café and Wellness Studio, offering an alternative dining experience focused on plant-powered food and sustainably sourced meals, as well as a sunlit fitness area. The architectural redesigning of the glass dome was led by Martin Francis, known for his contribution to the iconic Louvre Pyramid in Paris.

Cunard President Katie McAlister said: “For more than 180 years, Cunard has constantly refined the definitive experience of luxury ocean travel and I am incredibly excited that we are now just six months away from beginning the next chapter of our remarkable story.

“It is both incredible and inspiring to see the progress that has been made by the craftsman, engineers, and workforce here at Fincantieri shipyard and as we start to see Queen Anne’s interiors take shape, we can all see what a truly magnificent Queen she will become. I know that guests around the world are looking forward to sailing with our new Queen and we are counting down the days until we can welcome them aboard.”

Captain Inger Thorhauge, Cunard’s first female Captain, hosted a behind-the-scenes tour of the ship, where specially invited guests received a first-hand look at Queen Anne during her fitting-out phase.

Queen Anne’s maiden voyage from Southampton to Lisbon is scheduled to take place on 3 May 2024.
