Queen Anne: All the Facts

Cunard’s Queen Anne is the 249th ship to sail under the Cunard name and represents a new era of luxury ocean travel. As a newcomer to the historic fleet, many cruisers have questions about Cunard Queen Anne, and here we answer some of the most common.

Where was the Cunard Queen Anne built?

Cunard Queen Anne was built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, one of the world’s leading shipbuilding facilities. Known for constructing some of the most advanced and luxurious cruise ships, Fincantieri brought Queen Anne to life with exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. The ship’s Italian construction blends cutting-edge engineering with timeless Cunard elegance, making Queen Anne a true masterpiece at sea.

How old is Queen Anne?

Queen Anne was launched in 2024 and departed on her maiden voyage on 3 May. She was officially named one month later at a glittering ceremony in Cunard’s spiritual home of Liverpool.

This makes Cunard Queen Anne the newest addition to the Cunard fleet. As of 2025, Queen Anne is just one year old, making her one of the most modern cruise ships currently at sea. Despite her young age, Queen Anne carries forward the legacy of Cunard’s refined maritime tradition, offering guests a fresh yet familiar experience on board.

Where will the Cunard Queen Anne sail to?

In January 2026, Cunard’s Queen Anne will embark on a Full World Cruise spanning 110 nights, visiting many incredible destinations. So, if you are wondering where Queen Anne will sail to, then the answer is pretty much everywhere!

Itinerary highlights from the Queen Anne World Cruise include overnight stays in Hong Kong and Sydney and stops at paradise destinations such as Mauritius and Fiji.

When she returns from her world cruise, Queen Anne will embark on a series of short breaks and European cruises. Many of these are cruises from Southampton, so experiencing Cunard Queen Anne couldn’t be easier!

What to Expect On Board Cunard Queen Anne

Now you have all the facts, and you’re probably wondering exactly what it’s like to cruise on Queen Anne. Many of our Cruise Experts have been on board, including Assistant Marketing Manager Eliana. Read her Cunard Queen Anne review below:

Before I’d even stepped on board Cunard’s new Queen Anne, I was quietly confident that this ship would impress. Colleagues had sung her praises, and everything I’d read suggested she was a modern classic in the making. Still, there was a lingering doubt: was I really Cunard’s typical guest?

That question quickly faded as I stepped aboard my Queen Anne cruise from Southampton. Though just one year old, Queen Anne already feels like a timeless addition to the fleet, perfectly blending classic Cunard elegance with modern luxury.

My first impression of Queen Anne was that she is pristine, not only because of her newness but also thanks to a crew whose attention to detail is second to none. I noticed crew members carefully ensuring the ship was immaculate, from the sparkling public spaces to the smallest details, such as wait staff synchronising the placement of plates with the Cunard crest aligned perfectly.

Culinary delights on board Queen Anne truly stood out. On my first night in the Britannia Restaurant, a simple carrot starter was transformed into a beautifully plated dish bursting with flavour. Casual venues also raised the bar; Artisans’ Foodhall offered an elevated buffet where restaurant-quality dishes were served with finesse, encouraging me to try foods I might never order at home.

Queen Anne’s alternative dining venues offered even more variety. At Aranya, Indian cuisine was reimagined with bold yet balanced flavours, while Tramonto served sublime Mediterranean dishes like sea bream with black risotto.

The ship strikes a clever balance between grandeur and intimacy. It’s easy to navigate yet full of tucked-away corners to explore. My days on board were so varied, from attending talks on contemporary art to sunbathing on deck, trying salsa and country dancing, and enjoying evening theatre performances. Wellness is a key part of the Cunard Queen Anne experience, so one morning, I joined a Pilates class in the sunlit Wellness Pavilion, followed by a healthy meal at the Wellness Café.

Regarding where Cunard Queen Anne will sail to, her itineraries include a host of incredible destinations across Northern Europe, the Canary Islands and even a world cruise! This variety ensures there’s something for every type of traveller.

Finally, the demographic aboard Queen Anne pleasantly surprised me. Instead of a solely traditional Cunard crowd, the ship welcomed multi-generational families, young couples, and groups of friends. Loyal Cunarders will feel at home, but Queen Anne also offers a fresh, welcoming experience for new guests.

My Cunard Queen Anne cruise was excellent from start to finish. Whether you’re wondering ‘How old is Queen Anne?’ or simply curious about her origins and destinations, one thing is clear: Queen Anne represents a beautiful new chapter in Cunard’s rich and storied history.
