Thomas Cook goes into administration

After weeks of talks and negotiations aimed at saving the world’s oldest travel firm, Thomas Cook ceased trading this morning when it entered into compulsory liquidation, after over 175 years.

With over 150,000 Brits currently on their holidays overseas and all Thomas Cook Airlines planes grounded, the government has initiated the biggest ever peacetime repatriation, dubbed Operation Matterhorn, with 45 jets chartered to bring holidaymakers home.

Fly/cruises affected by Thomas Cook airlines

For all guests who have a future fly/cruise booked which features a Thomas Cook Airlines flight, cruise operators are confirming that almost all holidays will go ahead with operators arranging alternative flights. P&O Cruises, Fred. Olsen Cruises and Celebrity Cruises have announced they will contact any customers impacted by the collapse directly to notify them of their alternative flight details.

At Bolsover Cruise Club, our thoughts are with all Thomas Cook staff and holidaymakers affected by this sad news.
