Royal Caribbean Reveals First Look at Icon of the Seas

Details of the next Royal Caribbean ship Icon of the Seas have emerged, ahead of its launch in January 2024. The ship promises guests ‘the best of every vacation’, with features including theme park adventures, beach retreats and everything in between.

Passengers will be able to choose from 28 different stateroom categories, including new layouts for families of three, four, five and more. The Family Infinite Balcony and Surfside Family Suite feature kids’ alcoves tucked away from the adults, while the three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse comes complete with its own white picket fence and mailbox.

Icon of the Seas will feature eight neighbourhoods, five of which have never been seen before on board a Royal Caribbean ship. Highlights include the AquaDome perched at the top of the ship, which will present a tranquil oasis by day and by night, hosts restaurants, bars and aqua shows.

Chill Island is another of the new neighbourhoods, where four of the seven pools on board can be found. Swim & Tonic provides the first swim-up bar from the cruise line, while Cloud 17 is an adult’s-only retreat.

Michael Bayley, President and CEO at Royal Caribbean International, said:

Now more than ever, families and friends are prioritizing experiences where they can bond and enjoy their own adventures.

We set out to create a vacation that makes all that possible in one place for the thrill-seekers, the chill enthusiasts and everyone in between, without compromise. It’s this first-of-its-kind combination that makes Icon the future of family vacations, and that future is here.

Icon of the Seas will sail year-round, seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Miami and every voyage will stop at Royal Caribbean’s private island Perfect Day at CocoCay, in The Bahamas.
