A highly anticipated delivery has arrived from Rostock, Germany – the Floating Engine Room Unit (FERU) for the magnificent Disney Treasure. This critical component is a major step towards the completion of the ship. Once the Disney Treasure sets sail, the FERU will serve as the powerhouse, housing the main motors and liquified natural gas tanks.
But that’s not all! The FERU is also responsible for housing all the necessary auxiliary machinery, including systems for cooling water, fuel, air supply, and other essential support systems. It truly is the heart and soul of the ship.
In the picture above, you can catch a glimpse of the FERU during its journey from Denmark. It’s a remarkable sight to see this vital piece of technology make its way to the shipyard, bringing the Disney Treasure one step closer to becoming a reality.
Disney Treasure has reached another milestone. One of the recognisable features of any Disney Cruise Line vessel is the iconic red funnels proudly standing tall on the top deck. Staying true to the timeless and elegant design of all Disney Cruise Line ships, the Disney Treasure will carry on this tradition by featuring these eye-catching funnels.
On 9 Feb 2023 the shipyard welcomed the arrival of the second funnel, all the way from Poland. Soon, it will be coated in a vibrant shade of bright red paint and carefully installed on the ship. With each new piece that arrives, the excitement surrounding the completion of the Disney Treasure grows.
