MSC Lirica boasts an extremely important role in the history of MSC Cruises.  As the first ever complete new build to join the fleet she signified a step towards the future for the cruise line and helped set the tone for a bright, modern future.  She arrived on the scene in 2003 but thanks to the meticulous care the cruise line take with the presentation of their ships, she looks just as impressive now as she did back then.

On board you can expect to find a warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere with traditional materials, brass and marble designed to portray a timeless classic approach to cruise ship design.  Not only have they achieved this but they have certainly succeeded when it comes to creating a wonderful ambience on board.

Entertainment and Recreation

The open deck spaces provide the upmost in comfort and freedom to roam around and enjoy the fabulous views out to sea.  MSC Lirica’s pool areas are fantastic for lazing the day away and relaxing under shimmering sunlight.  Relaxation is even taken up a notch at the marvelous Lirica Health Centre on board for a great range of soothing treatments on offer.  Just a little time here is the perfect remedy to a stressful lifestyle and you’ll soon feel the strains washing away.

Fitness enthusiasts will enjoy the excellent gymnasium facilities along with the sports court area offering gaming options including basketball, volleyball, tennis and even a place to practice your golf swing or take on the patience testing mini golf course.  You’ll also find traditional deck games such as shuffleboard and deck quoits on offer around the open space areas.

Lovers of retail therapy will also be pleased to know that there is a great range of duty free shops on board with everything from fashion to fragrance.

Evening entertainment is just as good if not better with a whole host of bars and lounges to enjoy.  The Lord Nelson pub is a great place for a pre-dinner drink with a convivial atmosphere whilst the Beverley Hills Bar offers a great place to relax and enjoy a freshly made cocktail.

The Broadway Theatre is an enchanting venue for evening entertainment with a thrilling range of live production shows and musical acts throughout each voyage.  You will also find the thrill of Las Vegas at the casino on board with over 400 square metres of gaming action to enjoy, there’s even virtual reality gaming experiences should you wish to try something new.

Round your night off at the tremendous Blue Club Disco where the music goes on till the early morning hours.

Family Features

Children will love this ship as there is just so much to see and do.  The video gaming centre on board has to be one of the best ever developed at sea whilst their own private areas give them a sense of exclusivity and freedom on board.  The excellent MSC children’s crew always keep the fun going and parents can relax knowing children are safe and sound whilst having the time of their lives.

La Bussola and L’Ippocampo are the two main restaurants on board MSC Lirica offering signature silver service for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  These exquisite dining venues never fail to impress with charming designs welcoming guests to enjoy the most palette pleasing menus.  Dining here offers two different choices; traditional dining and anytime dining.  These options provide the choice of dining at the same table each evening at a sitting time of your selection or the freedom to dine whenever you wish.

As well as the main restaurants guests also have the option of dining at the spectacular al fresco restaurant on board known as La Pergola.  This delectable venue offers the chance to dine under the stars for a gastronomic selection from the MSC master chefs.

There is also an option on board for casual dining and this comes in the form of the Le Bistrot Cafeteria serving up a treat of dishes from around the world but with a key focus on Italian inspiration and flare.

Dress Code

The dress code during the day is casual.  Comfortable attire is recommended for when taking excursions in port but whilst on board resort casual is the main dress code.  During the evening the dress code will vary and you will be instructed of the night’s attire in your daily newspaper, delivered to your stateroom each evening. Evening attire ranges from smart casual to formal evenings when gentlemen are required to wear a dark suit or tuxedo whilst ladies often opt for evening gowns.
