Oceania Regatta is the flagship of the Oceania Cruises fleet and her multimillion-dollar transformation in 2014 created a virtually new ship. Regatta embodies everything that is great about traditional cruising, from the finest teak decks to custom designed marblework and luxurious neo-classical detail in your luxe accommodation. With a dedicated crew of 400 professionally trained European staff serving the needs of just 684 guests, you will want for nothing aboard Regatta.
» Flagship of the fleet
» Guest capacity: 684
» Luxurious neo-classical furnishings
» Award-winning cuisine
» Cosy, sociable atmosphere
Suites and staterooms are the epitome of luxurious; grand, spacious and decorated with the same soothing colours schemes, soft textures and stylish furnishing that you would expect to find in the best boutique hotels on land. All accommodation features a Prestige Tranquillity Bed, a mini-bar stocked with free and unlimited soft drinks and bottled water, nightly turndown service with signature Belgian chocolates, complimentary Wi-Fi access and more, so you can truly relax and recharge in your home away from home.
Take your time to explore the ship, getting to know your fellow cruisers along the way as you enjoy a coffee here and a quiet glass of wine there.
It’s easy to lose track of time when soaking up the sun on the chaises and daybeds that surround the main pool, and the whole Pool Deck is a haven of relaxation; meander from pool to hot tub and back, pausing only to whet your whistle with a drink or two from the Waves Bar. On days in port, after a hot afternoon exploring the best the Mediterranean has to offer, nothing beats a sundowner on Regatta’s teak decks.
When the clock chimes 4pm, there is only one place to be. Afternoon Tea in the Horizon Lounge is a must for Oceania’s guests, their attentive staff dishing up four-tiered cake stands brandishing finger sandwiches, buttery scones and sinful desserts. Holidays are made for indulging and little could be more of a treat than cakes and tea as a precursor to dinner.
We’re of the opinion that holidays call for ultimate relaxation, your only concern being which book to read or where to head for lunch. That being said, there is plenty to keep the more active amongst us enthralled during sea days. Regatta’s Sports Deck plays host to a little friendly competition, whilst those who are missing the golf course will be happy to spot the putting green. Seasoned cruisers can also demonstrate their prowess in the art of shuffleboard.
Those whose trainers made it into their case can take things up a notch with a lap or two around the running track, your exertion rewarded with some pretty great views. Oceania Regatta also features an indoor Fitness Centre.
Every restaurant aboard Oceania Regatta is complimentary, so wherever you choose to dine, you’ll never incur any additional charges. Of course, this means that you can sample a new feast every evening, starting in the aptly-named Grand Dining Room. As impressive as its title suggests, the ships main dining venue is welcoming and classic; tables are set with the finest bone china and sparkling Riedel crystal. The cuisine is every ounce as impressive as the surroundings, having been carefully curated by Master Chef Jacques Pépin.
The Polo Grill embodies the sultry all-American ambience we associate with the very best steakhouses. Take a seat in burgundy leather chairs and dine at dark wood tables, savouring every mouthful of prime cuts of beef and succulent seafood. Perhaps you’d rather begin your evening with an appetizer of Octopus Carpaccio with Champagne Vinaigrette in Regatta’s authentic Italian restaurant, Toscana? Many of the dishes on offer here have been passed down through the generations, taught to Toscana’s chefs by their mothers and grandmothers.
On the evenings that follow long days ashore, nothing hits the spot quite like the fast but fantastic dining on offer at the Terrace Café. Take a table inside or make the most of the summer sun and dine al fresco, your plate filled with everything from Marinated Duck Breast to Crispy Ginger Calamari. The cuisine in the buffet-style restaurant is every bit as delicious as that in the ship’s more formal venues and hot station chefs will even be on hand to rustle up your favourite pasta dish or stir fry while you wait.
Oceana Cruises’ guests are well-travelled and keen to enjoy the finer things in life, meaning you’ll spend your sea days and evenings with like-minded acquaintances who so often become friends.
Martinis are offered both shaken and stirred in Martinis Bar, whilst the entertainment rarely stops in the Lounge, where comedians and lively jazz ensembles keep the atmosphere alive late into the night. Hit the dance floor in Horizons, bopping to the beat of Regatta’s resident band and sharing stories of your shore excursions with fellow cruisers. Later, the Grand Bar beckons with a tempting cocktail list.
Even if you rarely enjoy a flutter at home, there’s something about cruising that tempts you to flirt with Lady Luck; finish your night with blackjack, poker or roulette in the casino – Monte Carlo style.
The recommended dress code aboard Oceania Regatta is resort or country club casual, so you can make the most of your sea days in comfort and fully embrace that holiday feeling. Come evening, Oceania Cruises recommends a ‘Elegant Casual’ dress code, thought the cruise line does not permit the wearing of casual jeans, shorts and T-shirts at dinner.
We had the most enjoyable cruise possible! Everything was first class! Staff superb! Look forward to doing another as soon…
