Created as a classic, ocean gliding vessel, Aurora is an adult-only mid-sized ship capable of taking her passengers on new adventures in every corner of the globe and her itineraries include the stunning Mediterranean, the glory of the Baltics and USA & Canada.
Aurora offers a great range of entertainment to her passengers including three pools offering ideal locations to lay back and enjoy the sun. The Crystal Pool is the largest on the ship and benefits from two adjoining Jacuzzis.
Even the greyest of sea days can be spent relaxing in the warm waters, as the sliding glass Skydome covers the area, leaving you free to enjoy your day whatever the weather. There’s the Terrace Pool and Riviera Pool – a larger area complete with gentle waterfall and a tempting Jacuzzi.
If you’re looking for a little relaxation head to the Oasis Spa situated on Lido deck. Pamper and indulge with the latest reinvigorating treatments or visit the hair and beauty salon, just in time for Formal Night. Sport and fitness fans are well accounted for on board Aurora. The sports court boasts a chance for friendly rivalry in football, tennis, basketball and volleyball, while the gym boasts state-of-the-art equipment complimented by professional fitness experts on hand at all times to provide assistance.
Guests can while away the hours perusing a selection of luxury shops or enjoy some educational enrichment at the Cyb@study technology centre. The Playhouse on board cinema is the perfect place to disappear for an afternoon, enjoying the latest releases with some sweet treats in hand.
With a choice of twelve bars and four bustling entertainment venues, you’ll never experience anything but the best evenings on board Aurora. The Curzon theatre thrills guests with West End inspired productions, comedy shows and sequin-spangled dance performances, while the Monte Carlo Casino beckons you to take a chance on Lady Luck in its plush surroundings. The Carmen Show Lounge plays host to live music and cabaret acts, before the dance floor fills as the night goes on.
With so many bars on board there really is somewhere for everyone to enjoy a tipple before or after the evening’s entertainment. The Crow’s Nest is an eternally popular venue on many of the P&O Cruises fleet, offering panoramic views and a relaxed atmosphere through the day and games and competitions in the evening. Sports fans who never miss a game will no doubt appreciate the live sports shown in Champion’s Pub, while night owls can dance away the evening at the ship’s nightclub, Masquerade. Charlie’s is the place to be seen on board Aurora and this richly decorated, wood-panelled bar is the perfect place to sip champagne beneath a glittering ceiling.
There are two main dining rooms on board Aurora known as the Medina Restaurant and the Alexandria Restaurant. Traditional Club Dining is offered in the Alexandria Restaurant, with a choice of first or second sitting; usually 6.30pm or 8.30pm. Passengers can request their table size preference at time of booking and will enjoy the same table and company each evening.
The Medina Restaurant offers Freedom Dining. This more flexible way of dining allows you to escape routine whilst on holiday, enjoying an early dinner one evening and a late supper the next. The Medina Restaurant will also see esteemed British chef Marco Pierre White’s influences contributing to its exquisite Gala Night menus.
Speciality dining is provided in the Glass House Restaurant. This elegant eatery offers a delicious menu matched with expert wine choices by Olly Smith. An Enomatic wine system and private room offering wine tasting and private dinners makes the Glass House Restaurant a popular place for special evenings. Alternatively, enjoy a taste of the orient at Sindhu. The opulently decorated backdrop echoes the Asian fusion food served within its walls.
The Horizon Restaurant is located on the Lido deck and offers a more relaxed dining option for those who’d rather enjoy a less formal evening meal. A contemporary design and ocean views complement a vast choice of delicious buffet food, with quality and quantity in equal abundance.
Aurora’s dress code allows for a variety of exciting on board occasions and cruises aboard this classic vessel will encompass Formal black tie, Semi Formal and Evening Casual. Guests aboard Aurora will enjoy two formal nights each week, as is usual for all P&O Cruises.
