The dress code on board Koningsdam during the day has emphasis on comfort. For the evening, the dress code will vary and guests will be informed of this in the daily newspaper delivered to their stateroom each evening. Evening apparel falls into two distinct categories, Formal or Smart Casual. Smart Casual attire entails trousers and coloured shirts for men, with casual dresses, trousers and smart casual evening wear for ladies. Formal evenings are often the highlight of a voyage, with gentlemen in tuxedos and ladies showing off their lavish evening gowns. There are approximately two formal nights per week.
Certain shore excursions may require particular attention to clothing, with sacred sites and places of worship often not allowing vests, shorts and bare legs. For this reason, we would always suggest taking clothing to cover shoulders and legs whenever possible.
