Nice ship shame about the customer service
By Susan Beddowes on 20 May 2019
P&O Cruises | Azura Reviews

Our cruise began on Star Wars Day (May the 4th). This was also the date that gratuities and the service charge were no longer charged and what a difference it made to the customer service. Our cabin steward never introduced himself once during the cruise and when asked if we could have some envelopes he just shrugged his shoulders. We always tip the cabin steward irrespective of gratuities but not this time. We waited two...

overcrowding on ship due to bad weather
By Ann Sullivan on 13 May 2019
P&O Cruises | Azura Reviews

Due to the cruise being in Northern Europe, the weather was cold. As a result, the ship was overcroded and uncomfortable (too cold to go onto the outer decks). Entertainment was poor. The food in the buffet was not up to standard and was always overcrowded. Since being on Azura a couple of years ago, I noticed a downturn in all respects. There were some young children in the casino and running about on the...

Mostly good

We had no idea this would be a school holiday cruise, our kids weren’t off so when there were almost 500 kids on board we were a little disappointed. Couldn’t get anywhere near the pools you can sit around and the venues and restaurants were kept busy til around midnight with kids. Not a real problem but different to usual and it would have been nice if it was sold as a school holiday cruise...

Norovirus Ship
By Mrs Shaw on 29 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Azura Reviews

We have never been on such a badly run ship! P & O are going downhill fast. Embarkation was a farce, we arrived after an excellent coach journey with Eavesway to arrive at Mayflower terminal and given the wrong boarding cards. We saw all the passengers on our coach going through check in and when we enquired why we were not with them use were told Eavesway hadn’t arrived and were we sure we had...

Azura Easter 2019 – Portugal and Spain
By Susan Jones on 29 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Azura Reviews

I’ve been on Azura once some years ago so I knew it was unlikely to be my favorite ship now is some years older and not yet refurbished. And I wasn’t wrong, Azura is looking very tired and tatty around the edges and the layout of it is not at all intuitive. The food in the main restaurant was very good (we always do club dining) and we tried The Epicurean, Sindhu, the Beach House...

Canary Isles March 2019
By Andrea Foster on 16 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Azura Reviews

This cruise was just right for me and I loved everything about it. As a solo traveller, there was plenty of opportunity to meet other travellers so there was never any fear of feeling alone. I spent a lot of time with Jason and Sarah the dance Instructors who I found to be very professional, enthusiastic and friendly and loved the opportunity they provided for me to brush up on my Ballroom dancing. I found...

Madeira & Canary Island Cruise
By Malcolm Richards on 15 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Azura Reviews

Food good, not excellent, crew friendly, waiters a little slow but obliging. Entertainment good but could have been better. TV satellite not working for half the cruise should have been fixed earlier. Inside films are shown on a screen in an entertainment bar and not a cinema or theatre so seating very poor (weather cold and inside entertainment essential). Balcony cabin on Deck 10 had extra deep outside balcony, overlooked from deck 11 but no...

Still good but signs that a makeover is needed are everywhere
By Patrick Slevin on 15 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Azura Reviews

I have enjoyed cruising aboard Azura previously and did also enjoy this cruise. The food is good and varied, the staff that I met were, without exception, outstanding, but the ship herself is in need of a makeover, the signs are everywhere, and you don’t have to look hard. Balcony furniture is stained and worn, some soft furnishings in the lounges are in need of deep cleaning, and the wire wrapped chairs in the pool...

Amsterdam
By Brian Bird on 08 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Azura Reviews

Although overall we enjoyed this cruise with friends it was disappointing because the ship never arrived in Amsterdam. Instead we docked in Ijmuiden which is an industrial port dominated by a steelworks and a fuel refinery. It has little to commend it as a destination. A fleet of coaches for transport to and from Amsterdam was provided but was inadequate to cope with the demands of nearly 3000 guests and there were long delays to...

Given 5 stars overall, condition of ship is very good in most areas a few places need a bit of refurbishment. Everything very good as usual. Excellent service from all crew. Great food etc. The only issue is the smoking policy. I can’t understand while all starboard side of the promenade deck is given over to smokers who are a small minority. Same applies to Terrace Bar. I think on Oriana this was limited just...

Winter sun in the beautiful Caribbean
By Margaret Proctor on 19 March 2019
P&O Cruises | Azura Reviews

We love our holiday in February for some winter sunshine and love the climate in the Caribbean. We have been on Azura twice before and love it. However, it’s due a refurbishment which I believe is happening this year. We enjoyed our trip this year as usual. The entertainment on the first week wasn’t the best we’d seen in terms of choice, but that was due in some way to the medical emergency which resulted...

A Good Cruise
By Graham Makepeace on 19 March 2019
P&O Cruises | Azura Reviews

This was a good cruise despite several unfortunate problems. My wife was taken ill with her asthma problem which meant we had to visit the medical centre. The medical staff were EXCELLENT in dealing with her problem and getting her back on track very quickly. We also had a serious medical condition with another passenger who had to be airlifted by helicopter from the ship, this threw our itinerary out of line. But the captain...

Azura Caribbean back to back cruise January 25-February 22 2019.
By Janet Crees on 06 March 2019
P&O Cruises | Azura Reviews

As usual, I thoroughly enjoyed myself on Azura. The ports of call were very interesting and I was thrilled to take the excursion to Bequia from St. Vincent, last visited in 1995 and found it unchanged, a real Caribbean port, no jet skis, no loud intrusive music, and I took the excursion again and enjoyed the beach lunch thoroughly and plenty of rum punches and 3 swimming/snorkelling stops. Food aboard was delicious and I was...
