Your New Role:

As our Commercial Manager – Cruise Specialist, you’ll be at the helm of crafting and executing strategies that align with our business goals. In addition to working closely with the marketing and sales teams, you will play a pivotal role in building and nurturing relationships with our suppliers. Your expertise and strategic insights will guide not only our internal teams but also our external partnerships, as you analyse our data and booking trends to set new company strategies that will inevitably drive business growth and enhance our overall profitability.

Your Responsibilities:

Strategic Relationship Management:

• Develop and nurture strategic relationships with our cruise lines partners for mutually beneficial deals.
• Regularly meet with senior cruise line representatives to review targets and manage ongoing or new commercial agreements.

Marketing and Sales Collaboration:

• Guide the marketing team on tactical opportunities and secure joint marketing agreement funding.
• Collaborate with the Head of Sales and Sales Administration Manager, directing sales priorities and strategies.
• Lead the commercial cruise input to support marketing activities and align with commercial goals.
• Instruct the sales team on what needs selling, guiding them on tactical offers and implementing discounts to enhance conversion rates.
• Ensure cruise fares and promotions are managed and distributed effectively through relevant systems.

Market Analysis and Strategy Development:

• Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and sales performance for strategic planning.
• Monitor the cruise travel market to assess competitor activities and their potential impact.
• Provide clear monthly intelligence on cruise revenue predictions versus targets and entry sales by cruise line.

Negotiation and Cost Management:

• Lead negotiations for special rates, fare reductions, and value-added services with cruise lines.
• Secure compensation or alternate arrangements during disruptions or crisis situations.
• Obtain fare reductions or value-added services through negotiation.
• Reduce overall business costs utilising tactical discounts and exclusive offers.

Operational Support:

• Manage escalated queries, disputes, and legal investigations related to cruise line partnerships working alongside the Customer Services Manager.
• Liaise with cruise lines to resolve contract queries and fare-related issues.

Product and Brand Understanding:

• Work closely with Bolsover Cruise Club to fully understand the brand and its unique market positioning.
• Identify the right cruise products or product mix to meet the company’s growth needs.
