Royal Caribbean is proud to introduce Symphony of the Seas – the 25th ship to join to the fleet. Symphony of the Seas will go on to claim the title as the world’s largest, most adventure-filled cruise ship. Touting new features and amenities from new dining concepts and family activities, and the most dynamic suite in family travel, Symphony of the Seas is the new sound of adventure.
The tallest slide at sea, going by the name Ultimate Abyss, is set for its return but this time with a new twist. The 10-storey slide is a hit with the young and old, and once you’re up there’s only one way down. Only the brave will want to take on Perfect Storm, the tremendous trio of water slides, where guests race down several decks on the lightning fast duelling slides. Why let the fun stop there? Be sure to hit the waves and show off your moves on the 40-foot-long surf simulator, FlowRider, too.
Royal Caribbean’s famed Boardwalk neighbourhood will be infused with new energy, interactive experiences and lively venues designed for endless entertainment for all ages. The Ultimate Abyss will catapult only the brave into the heart of the Boardwalk, Johnny Rockets is where indulgences of burgers, fries and milkshakes will be celebrated with 1950s flare and the AquaTheatre with its breath-taking show of aquatic acrobatics and stunning high-diving aerial performances will all be amongst the new and hugely-anticipated features.
Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade will be the place to watch the ‘big game’ from around the world on one of 30 large-screen TVs. It’s also the place where you’ll enjoy friendly competitions in the arcade and refuel with a quick bite to eat and an ice-cold beer.
Love all things sweet? With its candy-packed walls, ice cream and toppings galore, Sugar Beach will bring a sugar high of sweet treats to adults and kids alike.
Despite what you might think, you don’t have to be in New York to take a walk through Central Park! You can take a stroll along the lush avenues of Central Park at sea, with seven unique neighbourhoods to explore. With 12,000 real trees and plants, Central Park at sea lives up to its name and from here you can enjoy uptown dinner and shopping. Make your acquaintance with its clique of animals (including a crowned frog prince), take a ride on the colourful handcrafted carousel on the Boardwalk, or grab a casual bite to eat from the Boardwalk Dog House or Johnny Rockets. It’s always lively at the Royal Promenade and it’s here that mum and dad can spend a leisurely afternoon pub hopping or rounding up the family to catch a parade.
Elsewhere, you can order your favourite cocktail from the always prompt robotic bartenders in the aptly named Bionic Bar and says ‘cheers’ to old and new friends. Activate the drink menus by placing a SeaPass or WOW band near the scanner at the top of the tablet, and then begin the process of selecting your drinks. Not only do you get to name and customise your drinks to your liking, you can also save it for later. Once your drink order has been submitted, it will appear in a virtual queue, a note on the screen saying how long it will be until your drink is created and letting you know when it’s ready to be collected.
In addition to the already diverse line-up of over 20 speciality and complimentary restaurants across her seven neighbourhoods, including culinary favourites Wonderland and Jamie’s Italian, Symphony of the Seas will debut new food and beverage concepts.
Hooked will be Royal Caribbean’s first New England-style seafood restaurant, featuring fresh seafood and a robust raw bar complete with oysters harvested to order. Elsewhere, El Loco’s Mexican fare puts made-to-order tacos and burritos on the menu.
Back by popular demand, the hugely successful Broadway musical ‘Hairspray’ will return on Symphony of the Seas, headlining in the Royal Theatre along with a new original Royal Caribbean show, Flight. In addition to all this, the AquaTheatre will showcase even more high-diving and acrobatics in the open-air amphitheatre with its new show HiRo.
For thrilling action for the whole family, guests can gear up for an epic glow-in-the-dark laser tag experience like no other. State-of-the-art technology and special effects will transform Studio B into the world’s largest and ultimate laser tag arena as family, friends and foe go head-to-head.
Symphony of the Seas will accommodate more balcony staterooms overlooking the open ocean and legendary Boardwalk and Central Park neighbourhoods than sister ship, Harmony of the Seas.
Symphony of the Seas will also introduce the world’s most adventurous and interactive family suite, spanning 1,346 ft. and accommodating families of eight in two bedrooms. The two-level Ultimate Family Suite will debut new features, including an exclusive slide from the kids-only bedroom down to the living room below; a floor-to-ceiling LEGO wall, an air-hockey table and hidden nooks for chilling.
