Ambassador’s Ambience Jubilee Cruise

The positives on this cruise were the Ports of Call and the general standard of entertainment, which was very good. Most of the speakers were also very good. We had a lovely cabin steward, a very solicitous barman and a lovely chap in Borough Market (called Luvly Jubbly)
The ship is old, and has been updated but in our opinion it is still not ready to sail. Our personal gripes were a leaky toilet, a blocked sink, safe didn’t work, air-con didn’t work properly (NOT good when you are isolating in an inside cabin), very poor TV (again not good when you are isolating in an inside cabin), leaks in the Observatory bar including buckets collecting water when it rained and wet patches on the carpet. Outside areas definitely need some tender care and refurbishment. Most staff need better training (our waiter in MDR was just rude and my husband refused to go there for the latter half of the cruise). The debacle that was disembarkation for all passengers who were in isolation was unbelievable – total catastrophe with many passengers getting very cross.
We’ve done approximately 30 cruises with various different companies and this is the first one that we would NOT use again. I hope they manage to manage a few of the problems and I’m sure it will suit some people. Definitely not for us.
