East Australia coast
P Hamshere | February 18, 2016 | Azamara | Azamara Quest
This was our first trip with Azamara Quest. A nice, small and compact ship. A little over 600 passengers with 400 crew – a very good ratio. Booking-in was efficient. Cabin with balcony was compact and comfortable. Facilities onboard were very good – something to suit everyones taste. The crew were extremely friendly and ready to help with any problem (if any).
Captain Carl, a Brit, was entertaining and approachable.
Our trips were well organised.
Our only concern, having basically booked this trip to see the Great Barrier Reef, was that our time on the reef was cut short because of commercial pressure by the Reef operators. We were hurried off the platform because another group of 300 persons were fast approaching. spoilt the trip a bit.
One main factor that made up for the Reef disappointment was the `Azamazing` evening put on by the company in Newcastle. A truly memorable evening enjoyed by all. A fabulous concert with James Morrison and group, a wonderful fireworks display, with the Azamara being lit up by a genuine Searchlight.
A lovely experience. We thank the Captain and crew for it.
