Amazing Iceland
By Heather Peach on 18 June 2016
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Balmoral Reviews

Just had the most wonderful cruise to Iceland. The atmosphere on board was very friendly and relaxed, not super glamorous, but I wouldn’t have changed anything. As a first time single traveller I would recommend “cruising with Fred”. It was all about the destination. I fell in love with Iceland and it’s people from day one. So much variation in the landscape, pure clean air, history, wildlife – it has it all. Went to the top...

A Transformative Experience
By Arthur Moore on 13 June 2016
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Boudicca Reviews

We recently enjoyed a short cruise with Fred Olsen’s ship Boudicca. Whilst we were totally keen about the itinerary and departure point i.e. around Ireland from Liverpool we had our doubts about the company and the size of the ship. Basically, for virtually the whole of our time as Cruise lovers, we have been P&O enthusiasts who prefer to travel on bigger ships e.g. Aurora, Oriana or Oceania. However, our recent cruise on Boudicca has...

GREAT VALUE
By D J Jennings on 13 June 2016
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Boudicca Reviews

Ease of boarding, the itinerary, and great value for money. Without the wow factor of the bigger cruise lines, the friendly laid back manner of all the staff made it a great cruise, we would definitely do Fred Olson again 10 out of 10

Excellent cruise
By Kay Kearns on 28 May 2016
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Braemar Reviews

Have just returned from our first cruise on a Fred Olsen ship and were very impressed. Have previously travelled with P & O, Celebrity and Princess. Although Braemar is an older ship and could do with some refurbishment everything else about it was very good. The food, service and friendliness were great. Our cabin was larger and had plenty of storage space but was dated but comfortable. The self service restaurant was such an improvemnt...

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Black Watch Reviews

Wonderful 10 day cruise to Hamburg, Kiel Canal, Copenhagen, Oslo and the Norwegian fiords. Weather was fantastic, which was a real bonus. Great to stay overnight in places—a real bonus, as is sailing from Southampton. Although an old ship, it was perfect. The only minor criticism, is that meal times should have been more flexible. Otherwise, I would thouroughly recommend this trip.

By George Cook MBE on 12 May 2016
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Braemar Reviews

VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE HIGH STANDARDS OF SHIP MAINTENANCE, QUALITY OF FOOD AND SERVICE PROVIDED BY ALL THE SHIPS STAFF. NICE TO SEE OFFICERS AROUND THE SHIP TALKING TO THE GUESTS ON A DAILY BASIS. HAVE ONLY CRUISED WITH OTHER MAJOR LINES IN THE PAST BUT WOULD CERTAINLY TRAVEL WITH FRED OLSEN AGAIN. WELL DONE

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Braemar Reviews

An excellent cruise by let down by the Braemar ship. This ship is too small for the number of guests on It. While the cabins are comfortable the lounges and particularly the Neptune lounge are far too small to accommodate the people on board. It was impossible to see the evening entertainment because even with a seat the vision was dreadful. We gave up. We are long time gold members of Olsen but will not...

Most Enjoyable
By Shaun Wadsworth on 02 May 2016
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Balmoral Reviews

It was some time since we last cruised with Fred but couldn’t fault it. A bit disappointed with some of the facilities being closed due to an outbreak of a tummy bug on board but it didn’t spoil my holiday I am glad to say, though I must say I did wonder if it was already onboard when we got on given the quick turn around that these vessels have though this was the first...

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Braemar Reviews

This being our first cruise we have nothing to compare it with . We chose a small ship being the Bramner which was ideal. The staff were friendly the food was of good standard but they could do with a person with more knowledge to talk about the attractions. Make sure you do your homework before you go.. We did enjoy the cruise and the Norway and the fjords were stunning but it was unfortunate...

Northern lights lived up to its name
By Sylvia Atkinson on 11 April 2016
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Balmoral Reviews

The ship was very friendly and very comfortable: the shows supeb, activities varied and enjoyable, talks relevant and knowlegable, the trips arranged by the ship were amazing. We went on five in all, including one from Tromso ,The Elusive Northern Lights, taken by a company called Tromso Safaris. Yes we saw the dancing lights in a breathtaking setting away from light pollution. We were out in minus 5 or 10 degrees until midnight. There was...

Our trip to Ireland
By Elizabeth Evans on 11 April 2016
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Balmoral Reviews

It is a long time since we went on a Fred Olsen trip but it was refreshing to go back to a smaller boat. However the weather was not kind to us. Hurricane Katie swept through and it was a lumpy trip to Ireland. Hence we never really saw Belfast. Dublin was superb and Cork was a rainout. However life on board was very enjoyable. My husband thought the Captain did a marvellous job to...

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Braemar Reviews

We have cruised with Fred Olsen for the past 12 years (nearly 200 nights) and many times on the Braemar. The comfort and services of the Braemar are second to none, certainly no complaints there. We chose this itinerary as it looked interesting, however being during the Easter two weeks we found it very disappointing, apart from the atrocious weather which cannot be helped, virtually every town/city we docked at the buildings of interest were...

Great cruise
By Lindsay Hardy on 01 April 2016
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Balmoral Reviews

We did this cruise as a 50th anniversary treat. It did not disappoint in anyway. I had always wanted to see the northern lights, obviously it’s a natural phenomenon and there is no guarantee but we were lucky enough to see a magnificient display. This is a quite old ship and the cabin, though spotlessly clean and comfortable was showing signs of wear. The public rooms were all immaculate. . As it was the arctic...

Rio Carnival March 2016
By Ailsa Miles on 13 March 2016
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Balmoral Reviews

Ports of call were very disappointing in Brazil, Rio Carnival was wonderful but the journey to and from the carnival was horrendous. The entertainment on board was good. A lot of passengers finished the cruise with coughs and colds and were putting it down to the air conditioning. Most times when trying to exercise by walking around the deck of the ship, most days parts of the ship were cordened off for maintenance, while we...

amazon jungle adventure?

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Braemar Reviews

I was pleasantly surprised by my recent Amazon cruise on Braemar, although I cruise 3-4 times a year this was only my second cruise with Fred Olsen and , as a wildlife enthusiast, my choice of this cruise was destination driven. My first cruise (on Black Watch) had left me thinking Fred Olsen ships lacked polish, had bland menus and an elderly clientele, Braemar proved me wrong on all counts. However, in one respect the...

Mayan temples and Panama
By Revd Barry Keeton on 12 February 2016
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Braemar Reviews

I enjoyed the cruise but, like others, was annoyed that FO had cut out one destination, Roatan Island, Honduras, (which I had never been to) and substituted Bonaire (which I had been to many times) for it, and then cut out even Bonaire on the grounds that they couldn’t otherwise have done justice to the people who wanted to go on the Panama Canal excursion. So, they did not deliver what was advertised in the...

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Braemar Reviews

The travel arrangements both from outgoing and incoming to Manchester Airport were atrocious to say the least. After 25 cruises with all cruise lines and this the 1st with Fred Alson, it was the best cruise of all. The entertainment was the best, the friendliness of the staff the best, the food was very good and the buffet/dining lounge organization was the best . Would recommend Fred Alson’s Braemar ship to anyone.

Superb cruise to iconic destinations living up to cruise title. Blessed with dry, sunny weather for majority of days. Excellent itinerary with good moorings at every port and choice of excursions if wanted. First class dining and service. Our ‘Terrace Balcony’ cabin afforded magnificent views when not on deck. Entertainment varied and extremely enjoyable especially the young, brilliant ‘Black Watch Dance Company’ and ‘Crew Shows’ which provided a wonderful cultural experience. Interesting range of on...

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Balmoral Reviews

Just returned from a relaxing 6 night break aboard Balmoral, sailing from the mayflower terminal at Southampton. We paid ?œ75 for valet parking through AB Parking, where we had a long wait in our car for about 45 mins until we could park up outside the terminal & leave our keys. This was due to Balmorals late arrival that morning. As we were late on the ship we headed for the Palms Cafe for our...

Wonderful itinerary with lots of enchanting ports of call. Sailing into Sidney Nova Scotia,Boston,Martha’s Vinyard,Oak Bluffs,New York,Charleston,Savannah,Miami, Bermuda,(St George),where we had such a welcome, to name but a few !! Well worth being up on deck for at sunrise to witness all these beautiful places from the ocean. New York especially was exciting, to see the skyline appear, then the Statue of Liberty, was truly a sight to behold. I have visited lots of these destinations...
