Title: Boudicca azores , portugal and maderia . Summary: What were your initial impressions of the ship/product? Having travelled with Fred Olsen before on the Balmoral I roughly new what to expect as to age of customers and d??cor, but my partner wasnƒ??t as this was his first cruise, so I was a little unsure of how he would enjoy it. On arriving at Greenock after a pleasant 5-hour journey on the road the long stay car park was a little difficult to find...

Title: Never again Summary: Our first trip with Fred Olsen, previously cruised with Royal Caribbean and Princess. Will be last with Fred, and probably gas put us off cruising completely. Tried to cancel prior to trip as had read about repeated episodes of Norovirus on this ship, but it was too late and I took the decision to go rather than lose over 60% of my money. Wrong decision ! We started with the announcements from the Captain on...

Title: Olsen Cruise Summary: The only slight disappointment we had was that the cabin suite that we upgraded to, although a nice cabin, it was not to the same size and standard as that on the on the Balmoral. Also the singer with the orchestra (Ricky) was far too loud, almost shouting, and the beat on many of the dances was not correct. either a bit too slow or slightly too fast. Ballroom dance has a strict tempo for...

Title: Fab Time on Ms Boudicca! Summary: Overall I had a fantastic experience. I loved the Boudicca for what audience she was aimed at. I found that the entertainment was superb and enjoyable, after I thought Iƒ??d dislike it. I also felt the food was lovely, great choice in all the restaurants. The cabins were roomy and spacious, even the porthole cabins didn’t feel cramped or hidden away out of sight. The itinerary we sailed on was beautiful it incorporated ports such...

Title: ‘It’s like cruising in your slippers’ Summary: Boudicca was as I expected an older characteristic ship with plenty of classic features. Fellow passengers agreed that embarkation and disembarkation was simple due to the size and how many passengers were onboard. Nearly all of them commented on how much they’d dislike a large ‘block of flats’ style ship. When I saw the ship docked next to the Msc Preziosa, Boudicca looked tiny and quite dated! Which in some places it was tired BUT...

Title: Amazing Iceland Summary: Just had the most wonderful cruise to Iceland. The atmosphere on board was very friendly and relaxed, not super glamorous, but I wouldn’t have changed anything. As a first time single traveller I would recommend “cruising with Fred”. It was all about the destination. I fell in love with Iceland and it’s people from day one. So much variation in the landscape, pure clean air, history, wildlife – it has it all. Went to the top...

Title: A Transformative Experience Summary: We recently enjoyed a short cruise with Fred Olsen’s ship Boudicca. Whilst we were totally keen about the itinerary and departure point i.e. around Ireland from Liverpool we had our doubts about the company and the size of the ship. Basically, for virtually the whole of our time as Cruise lovers, we have been P&O enthusiasts who prefer to travel on bigger ships e.g. Aurora, Oriana or Oceania. However, our recent cruise on Boudicca has...

Title: GREAT VALUE Summary: Ease of boarding, the itinerary, and great value for money. Without the wow factor of the bigger cruise lines, the friendly laid back manner of all the staff made it a great cruise, we would definitely do Fred Olson again 10 out of 10

Title: Excellent cruise Summary: Have just returned from our first cruise on a Fred Olsen ship and were very impressed. Have previously travelled with P & O, Celebrity and Princess. Although Braemar is an older ship and could do with some refurbishment everything else about it was very good. The food, service and friendliness were great. Our cabin was larger and had plenty of storage space but was dated but comfortable. The self service restaurant was such an improvemnt...

Title: excellant Summary: Wonderful 10 day cruise to Hamburg, Kiel Canal, Copenhagen, Oslo and the Norwegian fiords. Weather was fantastic, which was a real bonus. Great to stay overnight in places—a real bonus, as is sailing from Southampton. Although an old ship, it was perfect. The only minor criticism, is that meal times should have been more flexible. Otherwise, I would thouroughly recommend this trip.

Title: FIRST CRUISE WITH FRED OLSEN Summary: VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE HIGH STANDARDS OF SHIP MAINTENANCE, QUALITY OF FOOD AND SERVICE PROVIDED BY ALL THE SHIPS STAFF. NICE TO SEE OFFICERS AROUND THE SHIP TALKING TO THE GUESTS ON A DAILY BASIS. HAVE ONLY CRUISED WITH OTHER MAJOR LINES IN THE PAST BUT WOULD CERTAINLY TRAVEL WITH FRED OLSEN AGAIN. WELL DONE

Title: French river cruising Summary: An excellent cruise by let down by the Braemar ship. This ship is too small for the number of guests on It. While the cabins are comfortable the lounges and particularly the Neptune lounge are far too small to accommodate the people on board. It was impossible to see the evening entertainment because even with a seat the vision was dreadful. We gave up. We are long time gold members of Olsen but will not...

Title: Most Enjoyable Summary: It was some time since we last cruised with Fred but couldn’t fault it. A bit disappointed with some of the facilities being closed due to an outbreak of a tummy bug on board but it didn’t spoil my holiday I am glad to say, though I must say I did wonder if it was already onboard when we got on given the quick turn around that these vessels have though this was the first...

Title: Norwegian cruise Summary: This being our first cruise we have nothing to compare it with . We chose a small ship being the Bramner which was ideal. The staff were friendly the food was of good standard but they could do with a person with more knowledge to talk about the attractions. Make sure you do your homework before you go.. We did enjoy the cruise and the Norway and the fjords were stunning but it was unfortunate...

Title: Northern lights lived up to its name Summary: The ship was very friendly and very comfortable: the shows supeb, activities varied and enjoyable, talks relevant and knowlegable, the trips arranged by the ship were amazing. We went on five in all, including one from Tromso ,The Elusive Northern Lights, taken by a company called Tromso Safaris. Yes we saw the dancing lights in a breathtaking setting away from light pollution. We were out in minus 5 or 10 degrees until midnight. There was...

Title: Our trip to Ireland Summary: It is a long time since we went on a Fred Olsen trip but it was refreshing to go back to a smaller boat. However the weather was not kind to us. Hurricane Katie swept through and it was a lumpy trip to Ireland. Hence we never really saw Belfast. Dublin was superb and Cork was a rainout. However life on board was very enjoyable. My husband thought the Captain did a marvellous job to...

Title: European Rivers Summary: We have cruised with Fred Olsen for the past 12 years (nearly 200 nights) and many times on the Braemar. The comfort and services of the Braemar are second to none, certainly no complaints there. We chose this itinerary as it looked interesting, however being during the Easter two weeks we found it very disappointing, apart from the atrocious weather which cannot be helped, virtually every town/city we docked at the buildings of interest were...

Title: Great cruise Summary: We did this cruise as a 50th anniversary treat. It did not disappoint in anyway. I had always wanted to see the northern lights, obviously it’s a natural phenomenon and there is no guarantee but we were lucky enough to see a magnificient display. This is a quite old ship and the cabin, though spotlessly clean and comfortable was showing signs of wear. The public rooms were all immaculate. . As it was the arctic...

Title: Rio Carnival March 2016 Summary: Ports of call were very disappointing in Brazil, Rio Carnival was wonderful but the journey to and from the carnival was horrendous. The entertainment on board was good. A lot of passengers finished the cruise with coughs and colds and were putting it down to the air conditioning. Most times when trying to exercise by walking around the deck of the ship, most days parts of the ship were cordened off for maintenance, while we...
