The Orient Express trip from London to Venice was excellent. Superb ambience, service and food lived up to our expectations. Sleeping accommodation a little restricted, but that was to be expected.
The Celebrity reps were late arriving at Venice station (train arrival was as scheduled), leaving clients uncertain and confused as to what to do, especially with luggage. This was our main criticism of arrangements throughout the trip. Bauer hotel in Venice is excellent and ideally located near St Mark’s Square. Transfer from hotel to ship worked well.
On board, service was excellent throughout, with special mention for the Blu restaurant, which also served excellent food, and cabin staff. Entertainment very good, ship’s captain excellent personality. Main swimming pool slightly on the small side.
Shore excursions good, our guide for Split and Trojir was exceptionally engaging.
Overall very good holiday.
