Italy & Croatia
James E Fretwell | April 8, 2018 | Celebrity Cruises | Celebrity Constellation
Prior to sailing we had good reports about Celebrity which indicated a level above that of Royal Caribbean. Sadly this was not so.
Unfortunately the day started with a two and three quarter hour delay on the outgoing flight to Venice which obviously had a knock-on effect for the rest of the day.
The staff & service were excellent and the Captain fantastic but the ship was in need of some TLC, the food was frequently not hot enough, the water was so highly chlorinated it was unpalatable. There was no room for cards/games and no area suitable for that purpose.
Reading of a book was only possible in the cabin as public areas (including around the pool) were constantly bombarded with extremely loud & intrusive “music” usually accompanied by a female vocalist who sounded as though she was being tortured.
The level of entertainment was well below that of Royal Caribbean.
The next cruise will be a short one with P & O (no flying)
