The much amended cruise

This cruise was initially chosen for its Black Sea portion but as everyone is probably aware that had to change. So an overnight stay in Istanbul was added plus an extra day in Istanbul – later removed due to celebrity’s security concerns… So this turned into a Turkey, Greece, Croatia & Montenegro cruise of which only Crete, Santorini & Olympia were new to us.
The Constellation was the first time we had not been on a Solstice class vessel & initially took a little time to get used to. It is beginning to look a bit tired & we did find that during days at sea it felt crowded, also very surprised on walking on deck past the back of the bar on deck 4 to see the material on back of chairs was very worn.
The staff were as always excellent & the officers including the captain mixed regularly with their guests. The food was exactly what we have become used to when cruising with Celebrity & the Tuscan grill was up to the same standard as on other boats – we didn’t try any other ‘special’ restaurants.
Celebrity’s onboard quality was we felt not matched by the arrival & departure arrangements at Istanbul airport with confused guests milling around on both occasions due to lack of staff & clear instruction on where to go & what to expect.
We cannot comment on the entertainment because it is not something we participate in but speaking to others it appears to have been of a good standard.
We do enjoy the Celebrity Experience & have booked another cruise whilst onboard.
