Hello
This is probably the worst holiday I have ever had!
It is no fault of your company.
What was supposed to be Five Star turned into a poor Three Star Ship.
The ‘Nova Bug’ struck on day one and the Library and other places were closed throughout our cruise. The food was tepid, bland but edible. However, having to queue for hot and cold drinks is not Five Star. Each day items were removed from my Cabin eg drinking glasses and bathroom glasses replaced with paper cups, binoculars taken away, cushions off sofa, bed runner, Bible, Magazines, Ships Information Leather Bound Book, Bedside Leather Note Pad, Fruit Bowl, Ice Bucket, etc. It became a bit of a joke as to what would be taken away next!
I had booked Shore Excursions and the day before the Spirit of Oporto (2 x $99) I was feeling ill so I went down to the Medical Centre to see a Doctor but with at least 30 people waiting to be seen decided not to wait and catch something worse. Fortunately I had taken medicines with me for stomach bugs and decided to treat myself! I contacted Shore Excursions the day before and they said I must see Quest Relations. Both Desks were not sympathetic neither offering me an exchange Shore Excursion or a refund saying it was not their policy unless I had seen a Ships Doctor. This was done prior to the Shore Excursion and I know other people were making similar requests. In view of hundreds, yes hundreds of people, including the crew, being sick, the last place I was going to unless it was an absolute emergency was the Medical Centre.
I felt that our cruise suffered to rid the ship of the ‘Nova Bug’ by getting it ready for the next cruise. The ship was in a constant state of ‘fumigation’ and cleaning staff in ‘White Forensic’ style suits was very off putting!
If it had not been for the ‘Nova Bug’ I am sure we would have had an excellent holiday but Celebrity seemed only interested in getting the ship ‘bug’ free for the next cruise and as a result we suffered!!
I am sure that I am not the first person that will be complaining to Celebration Cruises about this particular cruise.
I was very surprised the Ships plight did not hit the media headlines.
However, most of the Ships Crew and the Entertainment were excellent!
Can you please inform me how I go about complaining to Celebrity?
The services of the Bolsover Cruise Club were excellent and I will book with you again but probably not on a Celebrity Cruise.
