A disappointment

The good points about the cruise were the ship, the cabin staff and the waiters and wine waiters in Blu, but their service is what I would expect on any P&) cruise. There are no single cabins on the ship and I was accompanying elderly parents so I had to pay the same price as 2 people! I had a drinks package included, but so did everyone else, to the value of $750. My parents had 2 drinks packages included so in effect I was paying more per person for my cabin! the embarkation was a nightmare and as soon as we got on the ship the staff were trying to sell meals in their speciality restaurants and an upgrade to the drinks package without explaining what our drinks package included. There was no offer of help or advice to where our cabins were. The hard sell was a theme throughout the cruise and was unpleasant. The organisation was dire, we had to fill in forms about disembarkation and in fact went to the desk to make sure that we could disembark together and a wheel chair would be provided. Despite this, I was originally told my disembarkation was at 7.20 and my parents at 8.50. When we went to sort it out, there was no offer of an apology, in fact the personnel were quite rude. The entertainment was poor, with only one good evening act. The lady lecturing on Ireland during the day was simplistic and factually inaccurate although the gentleman lecturing on the night sky was good, however there was a paucity of day time activities. I was very disappointed with this cruise line, I had expected very much more given the price I paid. Roll on the summer and good old P&0.
