A Wonderful First Time Experience

My Wife and I decided to celebrate our 39th Wedding Anniversary with a cruise, something we had always talked about but never quite got around to doing. We were recommended to Celebrity by some friends who were well experienced in cruising and by talking to several other couples on the ship we have certainly started at the top. We decided on the 8 night Norwegian Fjords cruise leaving Southampton on 31st August. From the outset the whole experience was enjoyable and relaxing. On arrival there was no waiting around, our luggage being whisked away and delivered to our cabin whilst we were transported directly to the embarkation point. There was no fuss (unlike airports) and within a few minutes were on board, our holiday started immediately. We chose a balcony stateroom which I would recommend for the Norwegian Fjords, to wake up in the morning and see the magnificent views from your balcony were breathtaking. Our room was really clean with a very comfortable bed, we wanted for nothing. The choice, quality and presentation of food was outstanding as was the service from all of the staff, who were always so polite and happy, nothing was too much trouble. The entertainment was of a very high standard with something different every night. The resident musicians and singers were top rate and very professional. We were very fortunate with the weather only having a couple of poor days but we made the most of our stops taking advantage of some of the organised tours which we enjoyed. I was worried about sailing, having had bad experiences before on car ferries, but apart from one rough night in the North Sea the trip was very smooth. Summing up or first cruise I would say ‘Lets do it again soon’ and of course it will be with Celebrity.
