Baltic cruise August 2014

From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and cossetted. The hardest decisions were what to wear, what to eat and what to drink. The ship was lovely and everyone working on board very helpful and friendly. I have never seen such hard-workers, some of them just never stopped.
The itinerary was just what we were looking for but we didn’t appreciate how tired we would be. Sailing east we lost a hour a night for 3 nights and for some (Russia) we rose early to pass through the immigration and meet a tour company on the other side. Russia was the highlight, such beauty in its buildings (we obviously saw the best bits) but Tallinn was a favourite with its little souvenir shops and brilliant prices. We paid approx ?œ7 for 2 lattes, hot chocolate & 3 cakes in Tallinn and approx ?œ12 for 2 lattes hot chocolate & no cakes in Stockholm! (best places to buy your presents too).
Warnemunde is a very pretty sea side town and we weren’t disappointed that we hadn’t arranged a tour to Berlin, very walkable too. Another walkable town (but we needed the help of a Hop on Hop off bus too/from port) was Helsinki with a very pleasant old harbour with market stalls and outside dining .
We only booked one tour through Celebrity and that was the bus to Bruge as we didn’t fancy the alternative and it was a shorter day. All other ports we made our own way either walking or HoHo bus (we did HoHo boat in Stockholm instead).
The two days at sea before Southampton (and the 3 hour clock) back was very restful.
We look forward to sailing with Celebrity again.
