Iceland and Norway

This was our second time on the Eclipse and I have to say the ship was looking tired from our previous time (2years ago). Embarkation and disembarkation were both very fast and efficient. We loved all the places we stopped at, even though the weather was raining it didn’t dampen our experience or enjoyment of them.
Main dining food was, for us, just ok and nothing spectacular, we have had better on Princess and P&O.
The evening entertainment was the worst we have ever had…4 nights we had ‘comedians’ only 1 which was truly funny-Mick. The performance shows were the same as what we saw previously but with different singers, however still enjoyable! Especially the Chinese magician and performer, WOW!
The Cruise Director was like the scarlet pimpernel during the first 12 days and many commented about never seeing him around except on the stage trying to be funny by never pronouncing the ports correctly!! The directors staff though were fantastic and made the activities that we went to very entertaining – Michael, Matt and Jermaine. Other staff were friendly and helpful if you had a query.
We had a few issues with our cabin…balcony room. There seemed to be a change of personnel so the room wasnt the cleanest and it was only when chatting at meal times we found everyone had kettles and robes in their room..but ours were missing. The kettle was soon brought when we pointed this out but the robes appeared on the final night!!
Over all we felt the ship has lost its sparkle and is not worthy of its star rating and unless the destinations were amazing we don’t feel travelling with Celebrity is worth the extra cost, both for the holiday or the hacked up prices aboard the ship!
