Lovely Ship

The Eclipse is a beautiful ship. We were apprehensive after our first cruise with Celebrity ( The Century) but this was far superior. The cabins are comfortable although we would have preferred the sofa to be near the balcony rather than the bed. The ship has lots of facilities although you couldn’t get a seat in some of the bars. Entertainment was a bit disappointing and , on sea days there wasn’t a lot of things to do that appealed to us. It’s lovely to have the adult only solarium area but there were rather a lot of hours available for family access and the times weren’t always observed!!
The food was always hot and well cooked with attentive waiting staff in the main restaurant. Seating in the buffet was rather limited. It’s disappointing that the main restaurant is only open at lunchtime on sea days. Also the only option for afternoon tea is in the buffet and rather tokenistic as opposed to other cruise companies we have used.
Rather a lot of hard of hard sell but this seems to reflect other American companies.
The weather in august/ September was poor compared to the last time we did the fjords in May.
