Nice ship, expensive drinks

We have just returned from a Med cruise on the Celebrity Eclipse. This was our second cruise on this ship, we were so impressed last time that we switched from P.&O. to Celebrity. We were not quite so impressed this time, the gents toilets (according to my husband ) were very often dirty and with no hot water for hand washing, quite alarming as the ship had cases of ‘Noro Virus’ half way through!
The service in the restaurants and particularly in out cabin was excellent, couldn’t ask for better, and they all coped admirably with many moaning and abrupt passengers, who didn’t seem to be aware of the fact that English is a second language to most of the staff. I would like to see Americans or Brits dealing with so many guests in a foreign language!
I thought the wine and drinks were expensive and were small measures, a small glass of very ordinary Pinot Grigio cost 8.5 dollars and there wasn’t a decent bottle of wine on the wine list for less than 41 dollars.
The trips were expensive for what they were, but then they have a captive audience, many first time cruisers are not happy making the port visits by them selves so they pay expensive prices for what often is a coach ride and a little information.
Overall the cruise was good value for money, especially if you don’t drink much.
