Trip of a Lifetime on Celebrity Infinity to Antarctica
jenny Jarvis | June 10, 2018 | Celebrity Cruises | Celebrity Infinity
We have just returned from Antarctica on board Celebrity Infinity. The ship is one of the older ones but we noticed many improvements since we last sailed on her in 2013. The Officers and Crew are very friendly and helpful and the Celebrity Life Activities Team, Esperanza, Aida, Rachel and Andreas, were great!
The ports of call were fantastic. We stayed three extra days in Buenos Aires and visited Recoleta Cemetery, the Tigre delta and a gaucho ranch. In Ushuaia we took a trip through the Tierra del Fuego National Park and sailed on a catamaran through the Beagle Channel. Wonderful scenery and lots of wildlife. Rounding Cape Horn was splendid and we were lucky with calm seas and clear skies. Antarctica was spectacular and Paradise Bay wonderful. In the Falklands we took a trip by 4×4 to Volunteer Point to see Gentoo, Magellanic and King Penguins – a highlight! in Puerto Madryn we visited Peninsular Valdes and saw more penguins, sea lions, guacanos (like llamas), rheas and even spotted an armadillo!
All in all a wonderful trip. Great ship and interesting ports of call.
Thanks, too, to Fiona and Kirsty for making all the arrangements for us.
