Ireland & Iceland

Not a bad cruise but not as good as I remember Celebrity pre pandemic. It was if the staff were not up to speed or they were all new recruits. This was born out by the fact that the training officer was visible in the restaurant most days.
The highlight of the cruise for me was to be the two stops in Iceland but due to bad weather we were not able to visit Akureyri and instead lost a day bobbing about in the North Atlantic to avoid the storm.
The first week of the cruise the weather was very good but the second week we saw a lot of rain. Fortunately, the weather was good for the land tours.
During the first week the captain announced that one percent of the passengers had Covid and we should take extra precautions. During the second week the situation must have worsened considerably because we were informed that we must wear mast at all times other than when eating and drinking. This again took some shine off the cruise experience. However, I must congratulate Celebrity and the crew for their honesty in informing us of the outbreak. Also the efforts the crew went to in keeping the ship sanitised.
