Lovely Baltic Cruise with Celebrity Silhouette

my husband and I have just come back from a Baltic cruise, which was amazing.
All the ports of call were fantastic, unfortunately the highlight of the cruise, St Petersburg, where we were due to stay overnight, was marred by bad weather and it rained for two whole days, consequently the first night we were supposed to dock, we couldn’t, so all tours were canceled and we spent the day at sea, we finally got in the next day, did our tour with an amazing tour guide, which made up for not being able to do the day before, but as the captain said “you can’t blame mother nature”.
Our Berlin excursion, was very good and so well organised by Celebrity, we literally got off the ship, walked a few hundred yards, and got the train to Berlin, where our guide met us and we went straight on the coach to start our tour, which was brilliant, took in all the sights such as the Brandenburg Gate, parts of the Berlin wall, checkpoint Charlie etc, and a lovely boat ride along the river with another tour, the weather was lovely, so all in all a great day.
Talinn, was a lovely port too, very medieval town, and again the weather was lovely.
Next was Helsinki and after Stockholm, Copenhagen, where we got the Hop On/Hop Off bus, we took many pictures of the little mermaid and had a lovely walk a long the little park by the river near the mermaid statue to the big fountain, which is well worth doing.
We particularly liked Stockholm, which was very similar to Venice, with its canals and boats so would definitely go back there again for a long weekend, as we only had a limited amount of time there, we docked at 10.00 am and had to be back on board by 3.30 pm.
We absolutely loved Celebrity Silhouette, it is a beautiful, elegant ship. We had an Aquaclass cabin, which was lovely and couldn’t fault it at all. All the staff couldn’t do enough for us and were always obliging, pleasant and nothing was too much trouble, as soon as we asked for something our cabin steward would bring it straight away.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, and I asked that my soup should be pipping hot, I only had to tell the waiter once on the first day, and every day after that it arrived steaming hot and that included all the food too. My only criticism of the food is the desserts which seem to be style over substance, they look very good, but a lot of them have no taste or taste the same and this is something that I think Celebrity should address.
We made friends with lots of people on board and found it one of the most friendliest cruises that we have been on in a long while.
My other criticism, especially on a Baltic cruise or a cruise where the weather is not too hot, was that the activities on sea days were not particularly exciting. I would definitely like to see more lectures, more food demonstrations and more game based activities. We had 3/4 sea days and on only one of them were we able to sit by the pool, the rest of the days were cloudy/wet and cold so we couldn’t sit outside and both my husband and I found that we were bored and wanted more to do apart from eat, sleep and listen to our music or read!
All in all, we had a lovely cruise and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Celebrity to everyone. Can’t wait for our next one!
