Home Cruise Reviews Centre Cunard Queen Elizabeth 1st time on Cunard
1st time on Cunard
Anne Marczak | November 2, 2018 | Cunard | Queen Elizabeth
As seasoned cruisers on sea and on rivers, we thought it time to try out Cunard. We were impressed with the speed of embarkation and the general layout of the ship. No-one showed us how to find our cabin but the ship interior is easy to navigate.
The cabin is better designed than most of this size with plenty of storage and very comfortable bedding and bed.
We never like the fixed seating arrangements but accept that as part of the package and had to keep going until 8.30 every evening somehow.
We actively disliked the self-service canteen – aka the Lido buffet – with a very badly designed layout so that there was frequently a lot of squeezing past people with laden trays, and often nowhere to sit.
The other aspect we actively disliked was the very poor deck “furniture” which was tatty and uncomfortable for both lying or sitting, particularly as there were no cushions available.
The interior seating was universally excellent, with a lovely theatre and Queens room, and surprisingly comfortable pub.
Overall an enjoyable 17 days and we might use Cunard again, but not in the immediate future.
