Hamburg and back
Roger Bowe | November 6, 2017 | Cunard | Queen Elizabeth
Having cruised with Cunard several times before we had the opportunity to take a short cruise on QE from Southampton to Hamburg and back. The weather was wet and foggy when we left Southampton but by the next morning the sun was shining brightly. We had chosen a Club Balcony stateroom as this provided all meals in the small Britannia Club restaurant and evening meals could be taken at any time between 6.30 and 9.00 pm. We were on a table of six and our German companions on the return journey were very entertaining and fortunately they spoke very good English.
The food and service was very good and our stateroom provided everything that we needed.
The theatre entertainment in the evenings was excellent and the two speakers at the daytime lectures were very interesting.
The weather in Hamburg was warm and sunny and we found walking around the city interesting.
The 4 day cruise was over far too quickly and we would have loved to have stayed on board longer.
