Mediterranean Cruise on Queen Elizabeth
Desmond Ward | December 16, 2013 | Cunard | Queen Elizabeth
I have recently taken a cruise on Cunard after many as a platinum passenger. I was so disappointed! It has been pared down to a point where after many years I do not want to take another cruise with them. The cabin steward was good as generally most of the staff but not as many and it showed in the Lido where dirty crockery was left on the tables. They have done away with the trays so people were just carrying plates which were so hot had to use many paper napkins to carry them. The cutlery was already placed on the tables if you were lucky. The drinks were very expensive with the cheapest wine costing 42 dollars(including the 15% gratuity). The excursions were also very highly priced. The shows were average and very similar routines although the costumes would pass. The only outside talent was Allen Stewart who was fantastic!! Even the wine tasting event costing 35 dollars was pared down to 4 wines instead of the usual 6 and in total would not have constituted more than one glass. All in all a poor performance and well below their previous standards.
