Lack of Food
Douglas Brands | April 7, 2016 | Cunard | Queen Mary 2
The joy of cruising was always the dining experience, sadly it looks as if this is a thing of the past if our recent trip onboard QM2 is anything to go by. Portion control was very evident within the main dining room and certainly not how we experienced on previous trips.
We were amazed at how small the dishes were, beautifully presented but you can only do so much with 1 potato, three runner beans and a dainty piece of fish. cheese board has disappeared and in its place was three pieces of cheese that you would find on a cocktail stick. Cunard is supposed to be at the top of its game, however we have had better food portions served on cross channel ferries.
I have no proof but it looks like head office is dictating that the ships need to reduce costs as we are seeing the same complaints from passengers sailing on P&O. This behaivoir can only take cruising in one direction, if you want more food, pay extra. Could we be heading for no food included within your fare, which allows you to decide how much you wish to eat. Sadly I think this could be the reality in the future.
