NEW YORK PRIZE COMPETITION

10 years ago we excitedly boarded the gorgeous QM2 at New York. Sharing our table and also our golden wedding anniversary was a couple from Texas.. Connie and Joe.Over the next 7 days our friendship developed rapidly and we realised we were pals for life. For 9 years emails were exchanged and then Connie announced that she and Joe were cruising New York to Hamburg stopping at Southampton and could we join them for the last leg of their trip for a joint diamond wedding party .COULD WE!! Within 2 hours our stateroom was booked.The following year passed quickly(it does at our age) and in August we boarded our adored Queen Mary 2,there were standing our happy smiling Americans. It was if we had never been parted, we swam,we went to musical concerts,then listened to fantastic lectures ,the Planatarium was great . We overindulged on the delicious cuisine and then danced until the early hours (not bad for 4 over 80s !! How was it possible to have such a magical time in just 2 days I don’t know but Cunard certainly has the answers.Between us and Joe and Connie we have 14 children and have encouraged each and every one of them to enjoy these wonderful experiences
